In this position, you are the liaison between our internal customer (sales and customer service department) and external customers/dealers when it comes to our accounts receivable position. You will also work closely with the shared service centre in Poland, which takes care of the administration down to the last detail. Together with your colleague credit controller, you are the point of contact for credit issues and debt collection within the Western Europe cluster.

What you will be doing:

As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for collecting Miele's French-speaking debtor portfolio and monitoring associated credit risks. Drawing on your expertise, you will provide an overview of the processes to be implemented and ensure that the set objectives are met.

Your main responsibilities are:

• Negotiate with customers and resellers regarding unpaid debts and insolvency issues.
• Escalate information to Key Account Managers and the Sales/Accounting Director if necessary.
• Approve credit limits, write-off proposals and bad debts in accordance with the approval matrix.
• Maintain good relations with collection agencies and credit insurers including handling the litigation process and disputes.
• Cooperate with the shared service centre in Poland, which handles operational administration (bank transactions, refunds, reservations, etc.).
• Analyse causes in order to continuously improve credit statistics.
• Report proactively to the Accounting Director on outstanding balances and risks

The Credit Controller we are looking for:

• Higher education degree in economics or finance, or equivalent through experience.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a credit controller, credit manager or accounts receivable manager.
• Experienced in conflict management and can reach constructive solutions.
• Has a commercial and customer-oriented attitude.
• Has a good command of Excel (pivot tables and power pivots) and can work well with ERP packages and BI (Business Intelligence) for reporting. Knowledge of SAP and/or Power BI is a plus.
• Works meticulously and well organised.
• Communicates professionally in French and English.
